This section addresses various issues related to the system performance. It covers hardware issues on the vision system (sect. 1.2.1), considerations on the image processing algorithms and on the processing speed (sect. 1.2.2), issues related to the vehicle control system and in particular to the visual feedback used in the vehicle control loop (sect. 1.2.3), the experience on using the man-machine interface installed on ARGO (sect. 1.2.4), and a discussion on the influence of the environmental conditions on the whole system (sect. 1.2.5). The section is completed with an overview of some of the problems encountered during the tour and a detailed analysis of an hour of automatic driving.
